Christujyothi Public School Rajakad is a Christian minority institute founded and managed by the Idukki Navajyothi Province of Sacred Heart Congregation under the aegis of Navajyothi Education Trust.
CJPS was established in the year 2002 and has already made its presence felt in the education field of Kerala within a few years.
Christujyothi envisions value of excellence in imparting education as divinely inspired by our heavenly patron Venerable Fr. Kadalikkattil Mathew, the founder of S.H Congregation. So it has a dream to fulfill “GYANENA MUKTI” which means LIBERATION THROUGH WISDOM.
Academic Sessions
Christujyothi Public School, Rajakkad (CJPS) is a co-educational public school in Idukki, Kerala. CJPS was instrumental in sculpting students to obtain high score in Board examinations and in other competitive examinations. We practice activity oriented learning method in Lower sessions and Integrated plus two course for the higher secondary sessions.

- It is a co-educational institution affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows the text books and guidelines of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The medium of instruction is English.
- The academic year begins in June and ends in March. Regular classes for classes VIII, IX, X and XII begin in the 1st week of May; the remaining classes (I – VII) starts in the 1st week of June. The pre-primary section opens in June including Pre KG.
- The school works from Monday through Friday, the instructional time being 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. There will be a minimum of 210 working days a year. The school office functions from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 pm on all working days.

The Sacred Heart Congregation for women is a community of love, which took shape in Syro- Malabar Church in Kerala by the infinite Providence of God. Venerable Fr. Mathew Kadalikkattil is the founder of the congregation. Having the sole capital of trust in Divine Providence, submitting unconditionally to the will of God, with the due permission of the authorities, Fr. Mathew gave shape to The Sacred Heart Congregation on 1st January 1911.
Fr. Mathew was not only the founder of a congregation but also one who was much concerned about the educational social and economic welfare of the society. He considered the women’s education as the felt need of that time. Therefore, he took initiative to start a Malayalam medium school and then an English Medium school at Pala. His Trust in the Divine Providence and unflinching courage to take up ordeals enabled him initiate the social reforming activities.
We see a marvelous growth of the congregation during the past 111 years. The service of the Sacred Heart sisters has spread not only in Kerala and India but also in other countries too. Today the congregation has 11 provinces and A Region. There are about 4000 professed sisters and 500 houses for the congregation. Our apostolate covers care of the destitute, health care, education, social service, evangelization and press and publications. We are also very active in all the activities of the parishes too.
In all the fields of our services we try to uphold and display our special charism of the overflowing Compassionate Love of the Sacred Heart with our motto: REDEMPTION THROUGH LOVE AND SELF GIVING.
